Course Title:  SELLING YOUR IDEAS ON PAPER

(Persuasive Business Writing)




Your ability to express yourself on paper can be a powerful asset. A well written document, whether it be a proposal, letter, memo, or e-mail can be very persuasive. 

When you finish this one-day workshop you'll understand the principles of persuasive business writing, and you'll be able to write more concisely, professionally, and persuasively. 



Workshop Overview 


Section 1 - Preparing to Write
In section one you'll learn the importance of preparation. You'll learn how to clarify your message so it is concise and focused, how to tailor your message specifically for your readers, and how to develop and organize your content so it's easy to read and persuasive.


Section 2 - Composing Your Message
In section two you'll learn about perspective and style, and how important they are to persuading the reader. You'll also learn how to quickly and easily write a first draft that requires minimal editing. 


Section 3 - Editing Your Work
In the last section of the workshop you learn about the two basic aspects of editing: checking content and proofreading. We also discuss a variety of other topics, including word selection, composing effective and concise sentences and paragraphs, proper grammar usage, and the basics of punctuation.
