Course Title: THE ART AND SCIENCE OF
BUSINESS PRESENTATIONS
(Developing and Delivering Effective Presentations)
Sooner or later many of us are faced with standing in front of a group of people and delivering a presentation. How well we do directly affects how people receive what we have to say, and what they think of us, both personally and professionally.
This two-day workshop is designed to give you the skills and confidence you need to develop a high impact presentation that says what you have to say clearly and concisely, and to deliver it like a pro.
Workshop Overview
SECTION 1 - PREPARING YOUR PRESENTATION
In section one we'll take you through the process of designing and developing a presentation that gets attention and conveys your ideas with clarity and purpose. You'll learn and practice each step in the process, including clarifying the purpose of your presentation, analyzing your audience, defining your objective(s), and developing your content. We'll also discuss the development and use of presentation aids, presentation logistics, and we'll cover impromptu presentations and how to prepare for and handle them.
SECTION 2 - DELIVERING YOUR PRESENTATION
Even the most carefully prepared presentation can fall flat if it isn't delivered well. In this part of the workshop you'll learn how to deliver your presentation with style and professionalism.
You'll learn about presenter anxiety and how to deal with it, and how to handle yourself in front of an audience so you come across as cool, calm, collected, and credible even when the pressure is on. We'll also teach you how to keep your presentation on track and focused, and how to keep your audience interested and tuned in to every word you say.
SECTION 3 - APPLICATION
The last part of the workshop gives you the opportunity to deliver your presentation to the rest of the workshop participants. You'll get instant feedback on your presentation and your delivery, and you'll have the option of having your presentation videotaped so you can review it later.
